The suspects were in a stationary vehicle from which they fired gunshots.
A 36-year-old police officer was injured in a shooting on the corner of Maple and Constantia streets in Pomona in Ekurhuleni on Tuesday evening, Kempton Express reports.
According to ER24, the police officer sustained a single gunshot wound to his leg after questioning five men in a stationary vehicle.

Reports indicate a shootout ensued at about 7.30pm, after which the men fled the scene.
The officer was transported to a hospital in Benoni for further medical care.
