Some Newcastle schools closed due to flooding

On Wednesday afternoon, it was unclear when classes would resume.

Schools in the Paradise vicinity of Newcastle, in KwaZulu-Natal, will be closed due to the rain and flooding, reports the Newcastle Advertiser.

SE Vawda Primary School and St Oswalds Secondary School were two schools that were not operational on Wednesday, as they were allegedly closed due to road closure in the area and flooding in the Newcastle area. They should resume normal schooling from Thursday.

“Most of our students are from Madadeni and oSizweni. The roads are closed in those areas and have made it difficult for our students to get to school today,” said an anonymous source.
