Provincial secretary Dakota Legoete said the provincial general council, to be held in Moretele, followed one in Rustenburg in October, which received and debated mid-term reports.

The African National Congress will choose its next leader during the December 16-20 congress to replace President Jacob Zuma ahead of 2019 national elections.

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma have emerged as frontrunners for the post.
