ANC in North West to meet on national leadership

The ANC in North West will meet on Friday to decide on its preferred national leaders ahead of the party’s elective conference next month, an official said on Thursday.


Provincial secretary Dakota Legoete said the provincial general council, to be held in Moretele, followed one in Rustenburg in October, which received and debated mid-term reports.

The African National Congress will choose its next leader during the December 16-20 congress to replace President Jacob Zuma ahead of 2019 national elections.

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma have emerged as frontrunners for the post.
