Mopani District Municipality offices robbed

The burglary comes eight days after the municipal manager was attacked and injured by a group of unknown suspects.


The offices of the Mopani District Municipality have been broken into in Giyani, reports Letaba Herald.

Municipal spokesperson Witness Tiva said: “Some files were stolen from the office of the director responsible for engineering and water services. When the employees of the municipality reported for duty this morning, January 7, they found that the office was broken into and immediately alerted the police.”

The office is used to keep documents of all construction projects that have been completed and those that are still underway.

The burglary comes eight days after the municipal manager Republic Monakedi was attacked and injured by a group of unknown suspects in Polokwane.
