Earlier this week, the DA in Gauteng raised its concern about an increase in various crimes across the province compared to previous years.

These include cash-in-transit robberies, truck hijackings, sexual offences and commercial crimes.

The party’s spokesperson on community safety, Michael Shackleton, said he would table questions for community safety MEC Faith Mazibuko in the legislature to determine what measures were being put in place to effectively fight crime in Gauteng.
