Gauteng heatwave finally over

After some record spring heat, the mercury is going down, while Cape Town remains pretty cold.

The uncomfortably hot temperatures in the upper regions of South African of the first part of this week will be easing on Thursday, though skies remain clear and it will still be hot.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, however, Gauteng achieved record highs for this time of the year, with Pretoria getting into the mid-30s.

Today, though, the maximum in Pretoria will be 32 degrees, with 30 in Johannesburg.

Here’s the overview for the rest of the country. The southern coast remains cold, with a high of just 16 in Cape Town.
