‘Sibongile Mani’ gets people talking as she shares her ‘story’ on Twitter
A Twitter account that was opened in August and appears to be a mock account, has told the story of how a Walter Sisulu student scored big after R14 million was deposited into her account.

Though Sibongile Mani says she isn’t ready to speak and tell her side of the story about the R14 million which was accidentally paid into her account by NSFAS, adding that she ‘wasn’t ready’, someone has decided to pretend to be her using a mock account on Twitter.
Mani spent R818 000 on expensive cellphones, whiskey and throwing lavish birthday parties for herself and friends.
Intellimali – which pays out student grants and support money – has withdrawn the balance and closed the account for investigation.
The Twitter account, which bears Mani’s name and surname, started tweeting on August 30.

The account has also been making fun of the situation but in reality, Mani will be held liable for the the R818 000 she spent and will have to pay it off to NSFAS, together with the student loan she already has. Mani is a second-year accountancy student.
