WARNING: Severe storms predicted for Pretoria this week

Monday is expected to reach a maximum of 30°C.


A possible wet week lies ahead for Pretoria with a chance of severe storms, according to the SA weather service, Centurion Rekord reports.

“We are expecting a 60% [chance] of showers and thundershowers on Monday and Tuesday from late afternoon into the evening. On Tuesday, we are expecting severe storms in the evening,” said forecaster Jan Vermeulen.

He said Monday was expected to reach a maximum of 30°C.

“Tuesday would be partly cloudy with a minimum of 16°C and a maximum of 26°C,” said Vermeulen.

Wednesday and Thursday were predicted to be partly cloudy with a 30% chance of afternoon thundershowers.

Temperatures for both Wednesday and Thursday would peak at 28°C and 31°C with a minimum of 16°C and 15°C respectively.

Friday would be partly cloudy with a chance of 30% isolated thundershowers from late afternoon towards the evening.

Temperatures would reach a maximum of 30°C having started off from a low of 17°C.
