The weather service hasn’t issued any severe weather alerts for Tuesday, but South Africans can expect fine and cool weather across most provinces. Here’s what you need to know.

Provincial weather forecast

Here’s what to expect in your province on Tuesday, 27 May:

Gauteng:

Residents of Gauteng can expect fine and cool weather conditions.

The region’s expected UVB sunburn index is “high”.

Residents should take the necessary precautions against prolonged sun exposure.

Mpumalanga:

Mpumalanga residents can expect fine and cool to cold but warm weather in the Lowveld where it will be partly cloudy, extending to the eastern Highveld.

Limpopo:

The day will be fine and cool to warm.

North West:

Fine and cool weather awaits North West residents.

Free State:

Residents will experience fine and cool conditions.

Northern Cape:

The day will be fine, windy and cool to warm. It will be partly cloudy in the south.

Western Cape:

Western Cape residents can expect cloudy conditions over the central and eastern parts in the morning, otherwise it will be fine and cool to warm but partly cloudy in east.

Eastern Cape (western half):

Expect a chance of light morning rain in places, except in the north-east. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and cool to cold but cloudy along the coast.

Eastern Cape (eastern half):

The day will be partly cloudy in the north, otherwise cloudy and cool to cold with isolated showers and rain south of the escarpment, but scattered along the Wild Coast.

KwaZulu-Natal:

Residents of KwaZulu-Natal can expect partly cloudy and cool to cold conditions with isolated showers and rain along the coast and adjacent interior.
