Two more lions mutilated at Limpopo lodge

By Citizen Reporter

Limpopo police are looking for suspects who killed a white lion and attempted to kill the other two at Ingogo Safaris game lodge in Alldays policing precinct.

The lion was discovered on Tuesday with its head and paws removed, Letaba Herald reported.

The suspects seem to have been interrupted during the poaching attempt, as they only partially managed to remove the skin.

They apparently threw poisoned chicken meat into the enclosure.

Investigations are ongoing.

This comes after three lions were found killed, possibly through poisoning, at a farm outside Polokwane, Limpopo last week.

“Two of the lions, both males, were found with their heads and paws removed. The third one, a female, was not dismembered. This latest incident is similar to the cases that were previously reported in Tzaneen, Mara, and Hoedspruit,” police said in the statement.
