UPDATE: ANC members march against bail application for Mokoena’s suspected killers

Members of the ANC women’s league, together with friends and relatives of the late Bongekile Mokoena (24) who was allegedly kidnapped and killed by her boyfriend’s ex partner picketed outside Kabokweni Court on Friday, Mpumalanga News reports.

They were demanding that bail be denied for Mokoena’s suspected killers, Lindiwe Mdluli (31) and Julendah Nkomo (36) who were expected to appear for their bail application today.

Resident leaders also supported the call.

“We want to ensure that the suspects are not granted bail. We support the residents and the deceased’s family, we say the court must not grant them bail because they brutally killed a young innocent woman on women’s month. We will follow court proceedings until the end of the matter,” says Cllr Isaac Mokoena

It is believed residents were planning to take the law into their own hands in case the court grants them bail.
