Alexandra High School, founded in 1960, is a co-ed non-racial school in the heart of Pietermaritzburg. With excellent academic and sporting facilities, Alexandra High is one of the top performing ex-Model C schools in the province.

 

Highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff invest significant time and effort in moulding students to bring out their true potential. We also do our best to give our students the flexibility to choose subjects across a wide spectrum and we offer everything from Drama and Visual Art to Information Technology and EGD.

 

Extensive grounds and sports facilities off er a wide-ranging sports programme for both boys and girls.

 

Recent stand-out achievements include multiple awards by Yongama Tenza Nkosinami Seroke and Lwandile Myeza at the Eskom KZN Regional Science Expo held in Durban in August 2019.
Andile Vilakazi, a talented basketball player, won a sports scholarship to study at the University of Barcelona.

 

Asanda Dladla was selected for the KZN Netball team in 2018 and continues to represent the school at provincial level. She will travel to Australia later this year for an international tournament. Finally, our shining star, Kwanele Mchunu, has been playing SA netball since 2018.
