Businesses targeted by thieves

Improve security at entrances to business parks, police warn.

Umhlali SAPS are urging all business owners and security companies at business parks around Ballito to keep records of who enters and leaves their properties.

Station commander colonel Khethiwe Makhathini said four business units were broken into last weekend.

“Security officers at the gates needs to double check the information given to them by people entering the business parks. If someone says he is from a certain company they must have something to prove it. Double check the number plate given to you,” said Makhathini.

She also urged residents to keep serial numbers of their items like cellphones, laptops and any other items.

“You must keep it somewhere safe, because if your item get stolen it will make it easier for police to trace it,” said Makhathini.
