Chamber fund for taxi smash dependants

The fund will be open for a month for contributions.

The Ilembe Chamber of Commerce has set up a support fund for the families of those who died in the Shaka’s Head taxi and train smash on August 17 that killed 16 people.

For one month the fund will be open for businesses, members of the Chamber and any concerned citizens to contribute.

CEO Cobus Oelofse said the chamber would ensure that the money raised would be distributed fairly between the surviving families and dependents. Donations to the fund will close on September 18, a month after the accident.

For more information please contact Ntombifuthi Mavundla at the chamber on 087 354 6343.
