Get fit at your desk

With these few exercises you will improve your posture at work.

Unless you are a trust fund baby, you probably spend a minimum of eight hours at work sitting on a chair at your desk.

Dolphin Coast Pilates instructor, Angie Clausen from Abalisious recommends three easy do-at-your-desk-in-your-pencil-skirt moves for a little exercise break.

“Everything is about posture, so regularly check your posture while you work,” said the body perfect Clausen.

“Make sure both feet are on the ground at all times and extend and lengthen your back, while pulling your shoulders away from your ears to create a flat back.”

She said you should try keep this position at all times, to strengthen and improve your posture.

“Next, stretch your arms to either side, lengthening and extending them, while pulling your hands back as far as you can until you feel a burning sensation in your hands.”

The third exercise is for your legs.

“Straighten one leg and elevate it slightly off your chair. Point and flex your toes. Repeat with the other leg.”

Clausen said you should do sets of ten for each of these movements.

“Always pull in your belly. Imagine your belly button touching your spine. This will give you great abs and that flat tummy everyone wants.”
