About 24 volunteers of KwaMama Care Centre in Shaka’s Head received grocery parcels from the African Christian Democratic Party KwaDukuza region on Saturday.
ACDP secretary Desiree Genyan said they heard that there were people working at the centre and helping others for no money.
“So we decided to give them some food for Christmas. This is to show our appreciation to them,” said Genyan.
Founder of KwaMama Frieda Bontkowskyj thanked the party for donating the parcels.
“They are helping so much, we take care of over 100 children a day and there are over 200 children on our register,” said Bontkowskyj.
