KwaDukuza police to maintain a high profile approach

Police operations will take place until January 10.

The festive season usually means an increase in criminal activity, so to combat this KwaDukuza SAPS are out in full force maintaining a high police profile in the townships and on public roads.

KwaDukuza SAPS arrested 57 people between last Thursday and Sunday and will continue intensive police operations until January 10. Twenty people were arrested last Thursday night in and around the townships of KwaDukuza for drinking in public, dealing in liquor and possession of dagga and whoonga.

KwaDukuza SAPS acting station commander colonel Mdumseni Nene said he was happy with the outcome.

“Shebeens and taverns are one of the perpetrators of crime in our area, therefore we will keep a close eye on them. We will be doing road blocks and stop and search operations throughout the festive season,” said Nene.

He thanked all the police stations who came to assist them with the combined operations.
