The Neighbourhood Watch would like feedback from the community on projects like this, which they believe will assist in reducing criminal activity.
The Ballito Neighbourhood Watch has identified the need to improve on the identification of house numbers in line with their objective of improving local security.
The first stage of the project was completed last year.
Gift Makina has been temporarily employed to assist them again with the task of painting house numbers that have faded or were not completed last year. The numbers are painted in white road marking paint outside every home in Ballito.
The paint was part-sponsored by Paintec, which is greatly appreciated by the association.
Identifying house numbers has proven difficult for members of the Neighbourhood Watch when reporting emergencies and suspicious incidents, and the numbering has reportedly been of great assistance to the police and other security and law enforcement services.
