ISOCARP delegates tour KwaDukuza

Over 700 delegates from 43 countries are expected to attend the five-day event.

KwaDukuza municipality is playing host to four technical workshops today as part of its contribution to the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) Congress, in order to receive planning input from international experts who have been involved in the design and development of major cities across the globe.

ISOCARP is a global association of experienced professional planners, which includes in its goals the improvement of planning practices through the creation of a global and active network of practitioners.

It is recognised by the UN, UNHCS and the Council of Europe.

The society has a formal consultative status with UNESCO.

eThekwini Metro is hosting the main conference from September 8 – 16.

More than 700 delegates from 43 countries are expected to attend the five-day event.

Today delegates toured KwaDukuza visiting four planning related projects: the Greater Compensation Area Conceptual and Development Framework plan, eThembeni Township Establishment Project, Groutville Priority 5, and Rocky Park Integrated Residential Development.
