Child killed in horrific Stanger accident

Three people were killed and two others are in a critical condition.

Three people died, including an eight-year-old child, and three others are in a critical condition after a head-on collision between a Toyota Corolla and a Hilux on the N2 between Stanger and Zinkwazi late this afternoon.

The two adults were reportedly killed on impact, while the child succumbed to her injuries some time later despite the efforts of paramedics to save her.

IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said KwaDukuza firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free the injured passengers from the wreckage.

The cause of the accident is subject to police investigation.
