KDM technicians hunting for power problem
Large areas of Ballito have been left in the dark since early this morning due to problems at the Driefontein substation
Parts of Ballito and Salt Rock have been without electricity since early this morning.
According to senior electricity manager for KDM Ncava Dambuza, the outage is due to a lost feeder between a substation and a transformer in Driefontein.
“We are still trying to find the exact location of the fault,” said Dambuza.
“Technicians are on the case, but until we can locate the fault and start working on it, we cannot say exactly how long the outage will last.”
Dambuza told The Courier that “most” of Ballito was affected by the outage and that they would work to restore the electricity today.
