WATCH: Mom threatened with axe over parking bay at Tinley Manor

The videos circulating on social media show the mom being verbally attacked and threatened with an axe by her landlords

A calm morning turned into a horror show when a local mom was verbally attacked and threatened with an axe for allegedly parking in the wrong bay at her Tinley Manor home yesterday.

Tasmyn van Niekerk said she heard her new neighbour banging on her bedroom window while shouting and swearing around 6am. In a panic, she said she phoned her dad to come help and started videoing what was happening for her own protection.

“He was angry because I parked him in when I came home the night before.

“I said that I have been using this parking bay for three months and that it is right in front of my door and looks into my bedroom.

“I also pointed out that there are four other parking bays available,” said Tasmyn, who is a single mother and lives in the house with her four-year-old daughter, Rosslyne.

The situation escalated when the landlords, Mr and Mrs Makan arrived and started swearing and shouting, while Mr Makan was holding an axe, hacking at the security gate and at some of Tasmyn’s pot plants.

She said when her father drove into the property, everyone bolted.

“My neighbour jumped into his bakkie and nearly drove over my mom (Melissa-Leigh Lee) who was walking down the driveway.”

The video has gone viral on Facebook and Tasmyn said she has opened various cases at the police station.

“I have had a long chat with my neighbour and he apologised, but I have not heard anything from my landlords.”

The landlords have not been available for comment.
