It takes guts to succeed in the business world
Salt Rock’s Patricia Schröder shared with the women the true meaning of 'never giving up'
A diverse group of savvy business women came together last Thursday for a delicious breakfast and networking opportunity at The Ilembe Chamber & Margaret Hirsch Women In Business event at The Waterberry in Ballito.
Salt Rock’s Patricia Schröder shared with the women the true meaning of ‘never giving up’ with the eight-year journey of how she started her business Reclite (Recycling through innovation).
Before for she could get started she had to lobby government to recognise the danger of electronic waste and bring South Africa in-line with the rest of the world in terms of recycling legislation.
“So many people told me give up. Do not listen to the naysayers. If you believe in your idea then do your own research to determine the viability of your dream,” said Schröder.
Schröder’s invention of a unique project to recycle waste electric lights and save landfills from poisonous mercury and other toxins, landed her first prize in the 2016 Ilembe Chamber Entrepreneur competition.
She was also made an Ilembe Chamber & Margaret Hirsch Woman In Business achiever finalist that morning.
