Enjoy soapbox madness in Ballito on Sunday

Bring your family and friends for a day of fun and downhill madness

This weekend the popular Lions’ soapbox derby is happening again and racers will be competing to see who’s king of the downhill race.

Hawkins Road (above Hops) will be transformed into any child’s (and some adults) dream track on Sunday as soapbox cars and wheelbarrows go flying downhill to the sandpit at the bottom of the road.

The soapbox derby will start at 8am and run the whole day until 4pm.

There will be plenty of sweets to satisfy the kids, refreshment for the adults and – of course – the Lions’ legendary bacon rolls, boeries and burgers.

Entry into the races will cost R20 and soapboxes will be made available on the day.

So bring your family and friends for a day of fun and downhill madness and see who comes out on top by getting to the bottom first.
