Join in the giving with Zimbali Rotary

Sport lovers are invited to join their next big fundraiser, the Golf Day at the Zimbali Country Club on May 28 starting at 7.30am

No one has ever become poor by giving – Anne Frank.

With this in mind, the Rotary Club of Zimbali have been dedicated to serving the community and uplifting those less fortunate and they invite you to join them on this noble mission.

Club member, Denise Neilands said they are very active in fundraising and that they would like to share this joy of helping and giving.

“Our main beneficiary is “Brite Eyes” and from the funds raised, we provide lenses for cataract operations performed free of charge at a local hospital. We also run an Education Fund, where we pay school fees and other costs such as transport for worthy children who otherwise would not be able to afford an education.

“We have made donations to the Summerhill House Community Centre in Etete, Save the Rhino, The Ballito Cancer Association and The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund among many others,” said Neilands.

Fellow club member, Nalina Valjee said if you do not want to join the club, you could become friends of Rotary.

“Youngsters think Rotary is for old people and that all we do is raise and donate money, but this is not true.

“We do not give money, we buy what organisations need and make sure the money raised is used productively. We would like to invite all ages to get involved and to experience what we do for our community,” said Valjee.

They will be active in the most beautiful annual competition on the North Coast, the Miss Ballito Pageant in the upcoming weeks, while also preparing for a concert by the talented Drakensberg Boys Choir.
