A distinctly local affair with Ilembe Chamber

Fairmont Zimbali's executive chef Dean Uren, has prepared an original, locally sourced menu especially for this event

Prepare for your tastebuds to be entertained with flair at the Ilembe Chamber‘s annual business gala dinner at Fairmont Zimbali Lodge & Resort Hotel on May 11.

Deviating from the norm, Fairmont Zimbali’s executive chef Dean Uren, has prepared an original, locally sourced menu especially for this event.

Uren will use local produce or products from local suppliers that will showcase the bountiful produce of the Dolphin Coast.

Some of the smaller local and artisanal Chamber members that will feature on the Ilembe infused menu include Yoli’s Bakery, Sage Deli, Delagoa Chilli Butter, Cindy’s, Say Cheese, Tastebuds, The Great Railroad Brewing Company, Science of Coffee, The Entrepreneur 2015 finalist Naked Bones and 2014 winner Just Meats, as well as Cappeny Estates.

Not only will your appetite be sated but guests will have food for thought from guest speaker Dr Mathews Phosa.

Dr Phosa is a prominent businessman who holds chairman, vice-chairman or board member positions at several prominent South African companies and institutions, including national business associations.

He is an attorney by profession and is a well-known anti-apartheid activist and politician and was the first premier of Mpumalanga. Less well known is that Dr Phosa speaks nine languages and is a published poet.

The event will continue some of the traditions that the Chamber would like to embed, like the inauguration of the new Chamber president and elected executive committee members. The newly elected president is Xolani Gumede from Cappeny Estates while the vice president is Phil de Sylva from IFA.

Nedbank is partnering with the business community to present this event.

Bookings for the event, including corporate tables of 10 people, can be made through Michelle Larkens from Fab Functions at fabfunctionssa@gmail.com or by contacting her on 082 775 3998.
