Today (Friday) is International Nurses Day and the staff from Netcare Alberlito Hospital celebrated with smiles, tears and side-splitting laughter.
International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12 every year, the day of Florence Nightingale’s birth. Nightingale is credited as the mother of the nursing profession and her nurse’s pledge is still repeated by healthcare practitioners around the globe.
During Alberlito’s celebration emphasis was placed on the vital role nurses play and the impact they have on the lives of both patients and medical practitioners.
“This International Nurses’ Day, 12 May 2017, Netcare salutes the women and men who wear their uniforms with pride, as well as the students who aspire to take up this influential role in future,” says Shannon Nell, director of nursing and nursing education at Netcare.
