Covid-19: Help the helpless
Orphan Fund co-ordinator Jane Armstrong said they were calling on the public to donate money, soap and tinned/dry food to the Orphan Fund, which will then be distributed to the NGOs on the front line.
School feeding schemes which provide a daily meal for thousands of vulnerable children on the North Coast came to a grinding halt with the recent announcement of the extended school holiday and now the 21 day lockdown.
Local non-government organisations (NGOs) are trying to pick up where the feeding schemes have left off and these NGOs need your help now, more than ever.
Supported by The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, these NGOs feed hundreds of children daily and, while it remains unclear how they will operate under the lockdown restrictions they remain determined that the children will not suffer as a result.

Donation boxes will be placed at leading supermarkets in Ballito during lockdown.
“When you go out to shop for your family please spare a thought for our children and help fill up the donation boxes or make an EFT,” said Armstrong.
