Two KwaDukuza beaches declared safe to reopen
While these beaches are now open, swimming and bathing at others will only be allowed once shark safety gear has been restored.
Two KwaDukuza beaches – Thompson’s Bay and Salt Rock – have been declared safe to reopen today the municipality announced.
The reopening follows the closure on Thursday last week as a precautionary measure in response to possible threats by cyclone Batsirai.
While these beaches are now open, swimming and bathing at others will only be allowed once shark safety gear has been restored.
Municipal spokesperson Sipho Mkhize said the reopening of other beaches will follow during the course of the week.
