Stunning artworks from Landscape Artist Awards claim top marks at The Gallery
The winning piece by Wayne Glossop remains on display at The Gallery and is a sight to behold.
Celebrating art was the order of the evening when The Gallery at The Studios launched the 2022 Landscape Artist Awards exhibition last Friday.
The exhibition will run until March 21.
Guests were impressed by the stunning works on display.
Well-known artist, gallery curator and host Jane Digby, said the importance of landscape art could not be overstated.
“It is a crucial, widely-practiced and far-reaching component of the visual arts.”
The overall winner, Wayne Glossop of Johannesburg, was not present to be crowned for his magnificent oil painting titled ‘Golden Gate at Dawn’.
Priced at more than R92 000, the painting will remain on display at The Gallery and is worth inspecting in person.
Glossop’s prize was R5 000, plus a Rembrandt products hamper and Malcolm Deweys online painting course.
