Simbithi Eco Estate calms traffic flow with 3 speed humps
The costs of the project were covered by the Simbithi Homeowners' Association and installation managed by the estate's technical manager, Nicky Misra.
Traffic calming measures in the form of 3 speed humps were recently installed on Chaka’s Rock’s main road, courtesy of a partnership between Simbithi Eco Estate and the provincial transport department.
A project in the pipeline for about 15 years, the need for the speed humps was identified with the ever-growing population of Simbithi and the additional traffic along the main road.
Simbithi Eco Estate general manager, Malcolm Samuel, said they had already received several compliments from road users who expressed their appreciation.
For years road users would struggle to gain access to the main road owing to speeding traffic and constant vehicle flow.
“We affirm Simbithi’s commitment to ‘take down fences’ and work with those beyond our boundaries for the betterment and improvement of the community as a whole,” said Samuel, thanking the community for their patience during the installation.
