Ballito lifeguards rescue holidaymakers swept out to sea at Granny’s Pool
The father, mother and daughter were taken to a nearby private hospital for further treatment.

A mother and daughter on holiday got into difficulty while swimming at Granny’s Pool just south of Willard Beach in Ballito this morning, and were swept out to sea.
According to KwaDukuza lifeguard superintendent, Bongani Xulu, the husband then also jumped in the water in an attempt to rescue his family.
Beachgoers witnessing the incident alerted the lifeguards on duty nearby, who responded immediately and brought the three safely to shore.
They were treated at the scene by Medi Response medics for cuts from the rocks before being transported to a nearby private hospital for further care.
