Business supports plight of orphans at busy breakfast
The event raised R23 700 for uplifting the lives of orphans and vulnerable children within the newspaper's circulation area
The pairing of sound business acumen, fine art and croissants resulted in an excellent business breakfast for The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund last week.
The well-supported breakfast saw a packed floor at Ballito’s Lupa Osteria, with a crowd of more than 80-strong coming to hear motivational speaker Cindy Norcott and Lifestyle Centre co-owner Bruce Rencken give insight into the success in business.

Norcott, the author of ‘How does she do it?’, challenged the audience to become incredibly intentional about their lives, particularly when it came to their internal dialogue.
“Many of us are defined by our excuses,” she said, challenging the audience to ask the child they once were if they would be proud of the adult they had become? Norcott said it was time to re-imagine the future by setting Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAGs) and becoming consistent in their execution.

“Consistency is a superpower,” said Norcott. A highlight of the morning was the auction of a Jane Digby original artwork, which she had generously donated for the occasion. Local butcher Warwick Taylor won the bid at R5 000.
Orphan Fund co-ordinator Mpume Vilakazi said the event raised R23 700 for uplifting the lives of orphans and vulnerable children within the newspaper’s circulation area. She thanked sponsors Siza Water, Ballito Lifestyle Centre and Music Gear Zone for making the event possible.
