Teenager and 5-year-old sister rescued after disappearing near KwaDukuza
The pair were discovered together in a field near Kenya township in Glen Hills.
Two sisters, aged 15 and 5, have been rescued after disappearing from Kenya township, in Glen Hills near KwaDukuza (Stanger) last night.
Saps search and rescue, K9 unit and IPSS search and rescue were called out last night but were unable to locate the girls.
“Search efforts resumed early this morning and after around 3-and-a-half hours, K9 Dante was able to track the sisters,” said Umhlali K9 unit’s Clinton Odayar.
They were discovered together in a dense field near the township.
“The 15-year-old was found unconscious with the 5-year-old sleeping next to her. Both were treated on scene and taken to General Justice Gizenga Mpanza Hospital in Stanger,” said IPSS medical rescue owner, Dylan Meyrick.
KwaDukuza Saps are investigating the reason for the disappearance.
