Ashton passes the baton

New year's student leaders elected.

As the 2014/15 matriculants prepare to write their challenging IEB matric trials, Ashton announced the 2015/2016 student leaders who were elected by the students and staff of Ashton.

Ashton College executive head, Joe Erasmus is confident in the school’s choice of its new student leaders.

“A very transparent, democratic and exciting electoral process took place, even to the point that thumb nails were marked to prevent re-voting,” said Erasmus, who said that although the process of deciding was tough, the final decisions are fair.

A new innovation at Ashton is that every one of the matric students will serve on a club or society, where they will play an integral role in ensuring that Ashton fulfills its goal to produce well-rounded students who make a difference. The head prefects, house captains and sport and cultural captains will be announced at the matric valedictory function on October 16.
