Groutville school pupils say “no” to abuse

Last week the country celebrated child protection week

Aldenville Primary School pupils and teachers gathered along the R102 in Groutville last week with anti-abuse posters at the ready.

This was one of the schools ways of condemning abuse against women and children.

The school’s picketing was in line with the national child protection week that was recently officially launched by the social development department.

KwaDukuza SAPS spokesperson warrant officer, Johannes Khoza said the abuse of women and children is an issue that requires residents to work hand in hand with the police.

“We receive many complaints of women being abused and we receive at least one case of a child being abused every month,” said Khoza.
