Mixed results for Ashton’s boys’ basketball teams

Ashton College's senior boys' basketball teams gave a good account of themselves against Curro Hillcrest and Northwood High School.

Curro Hillcrest High School beat Ashton International College Ballito 28-18 in their senior boys’ 1st team basketball match last Friday afternoon.

Ashton’s 2nd team lost 5-43, while the U15 teams managed to grab two wins. The U15A team won 23-16 and the U15B team was victorious 15-14 in a low-scoring thriller.

Jaiden Krambeck sinks a free throw during Ashton’s match against Curro Hillcrest.

The 1st team game was a physical match-up, which saw the hosts fall behind early. They fought hard to stay in the contest, but Curro were bigger and more accurate in front of the hoops, which ultimately saw them edge the home team by 10 points.

Raphael Mahosho fights for possession as his teammates look on.

Earlier in the week, Ashton won all their fixtures against Northwood High School.

Ashton will play a full set of fixtures this week at home against Crawford La Lucia on Friday at the Cambridge Astro. The 2nd and U15A teams will also play Richards Bay Christian School at home on Saturday.
