Curro Salt Rock warm up for Gelofte Night Series Final with victory

Curro's 1st netball team is looking to make it four wins from four and take home the Gelofte Night Series trophy tonight (March 7).

Curro Salt Rock High School netball 1st team put on a solid display to beat Crawford International La Lucia College 15-8 on Thursday afternoon.

Curro’s 1st team dominated from start to finish against to claim a comfortable seven-point victory on court 1.

Curro dominated from start to finish, running out seven-point winners against Crawford La Lucia in Thursday’s friendly in Salt Rock.

The match provided the Salt Rock team with the perfect chance to fine tune their game-plan and tactics ahead of tonight’s (March 7) Gelofte Night Series final against Hillcrest High School in Pinetown.

The Gelofte Night Series is an annual sporting event where primary and high schools compete against each other in hockey, netball and rugby.

Curro impressive ball-skills showed why they are unbeaten in the Gelofte Night Series tournament.

Curro kicked off their campaign with an impressive 31-10 win against Amanzimtoti High School before beating Waterfall College in the second round.

Last week, the Salt Rock side secured their place in the final after edging Gelofte Skool 19-17 to book their place in the Gold Final.

First team captain Luzanri Buys has been the player of the netball tournament, claiming Player of the Match in all three matches. Buys was once again outstanding in the friendly win over Crawford La Lucia as they prepare for their Friday Night lights showdown with Hillcrest.
