This was the first time I had eaten at BBM Café at Tiffany’s Centre in Salt Rock and was truly impressed by the amount of effort that they have put into the restaurant. The detail is commendable, from the décor to the open kitchen and bakery and deli section.
The continental menu is varied, from pizza and pasta to a fantastic grill and seafood selection.
While going through the menu I was going to have the rib eye steak, which I hear is phenomenal, (probably because they use Greenfield’s free-range beef which is some of the best around and although a little more expensive, is well worth it). The other thing that adds quality to the meat selection would be the use of their coal flamed grill. After all that though, I just couldn’t turn my nose up at the Gorgonzola, walnut, apple and Parma ham pizza.
I had to find out how this would work out on a pizza and I must say it does, not so much from a taste point of view, but texturally. While gorgonzola will always over-shadow most flavours, it’s the crunch of the walnuts and fresh apple with the copious amounts of Parma that really made this a winner! Some people would shudder at the thought of R95 for a pizza but the quality and quantity of the ingredients makes it well worth the price. The bakery and deli section is unique and offer fresh breads, ciabattas and croissants together with imported cheeses, Parma ham, Coppa, Mortadella and Italian salamis and Portuguese natas* which are like the best thing in the whole wide world! They are currently supplying Tasha’s at Gateway with baked goods, which just shows the quality they produce. They do custom orders as well. Pop in and see what they can do for you.
