The now completed sidewalk along Leonora Drive is indeed a safety blessing for pedestrian traffic.
The municipality must be congratulated on the speed and efficiency in which the task was completed. Well done to those who planned and those dedicated men who laid the walkway, often over weekends.
Sadly however, there are a number of motorists who believe that they can park/stop on this pavement. I notice that the sidewalk adjacent to the municipal offices is signposted: “No stopping on sidewalk”! Could these signs also be placed at intervals further along the sidewalk as well, so that the traffic officers can legally police this?
This is particularly dangerous during peak time, when workers walk from the taxi area down toward Ocean Drive. On many instances the pedestrian must walk onto the road to by pass a vehicle parked on the sidewalk!
