We find it quite interesting that a membership based organisation such as the ILembe Chamber of Commerce thinks it can dictate to the community when it comes to municipal services and imposing special levies?
Can the chamber share some insight on the company running with the project and if formally appointed has this followed any form of due process in terms of a public notice or tender?
It appears that we have the tail wagging the dog and the Ballito community are expected to just follow like sheep?
We propose the chamber adopt a far more collaborative approach as opposed to advising the community that the UIP is on the brink of being established?
One would also think that there would be something to show after spending R360 000, but this is apparently to have covered a feasibility study?
We firmly suggest that this project is advertised in the local newspapers to see if there are any local organisations that can offer a solution before we recruit an arbitrary outsider?
We have numerous community newspapers and forums so surely this should first be passed via the residents before being bulldozed?
The chamber is funded by the local business community to serve the local business community and not to dictate the running of the town or management of municipal services!
