I was travelling on the N2 to Umhlanga when, as I reached the Sibaya turnoff, a truck swerved to the right in front of me.
I also swerved but I couldn’t avoid the long concrete block lying in the road. My two left wheels went over it and burst, also damaging my rims.
I managed to gain control and stop on a grass verge. A car behind me stopped to help me. He was very kind and even tried his spare tyre on my car but it didn’t fit. My daughter who had heard about the accident arrived on the scene and we managed to use her spare tyre and my spare tyre.
The people that stopped to help me were absolutely wonderful, thank you Paul and Sara and a big thank you to the two policemen MS Mlambo and TA Magali who followed me all the way home. The police say that they have had endless problems at the Sibaya bridge on the N2 and they said that the concrete block was probably put there on purpose.
