To add to his letter I feel the big bang fireworks were the worst they had ever been in the Sheffield area, starting before the sun had even gone down until well after one o’clock on New Year’s Eve. Worse was that they were still being let off the next night.
I am not against all fireworks but letting those big bombs off continuously is blatantly disrespectful to wild life, domestic animals and people living in the area. New Year should be for everyone to celebrate with consideration to others!
When it got too unbearable I phoned our local security company and was told they were not allowed to act. I phoned the police station and was told they could not do anything and that I was to contact the municipality. I would like to know what the laws are for letting fire works off in the area and who to phone should there be a problem with fire works again.
Many thanks for a wonderful, informative news paper.
