Cliff Hatt of Zinkwazi Neighbourhood Watch appreciated the trouble-free holiday season: All residents and holidaymakers to Zinkwazi had a welcoming and joyous Christmas and New Year.
For this we especially thank all those beach monitors, private security personnel from Z2 and Alpha, KDM crime prevention, traffic officers, SAPS personnel and our local CPF, for their organised competence and vigilance over that period.
As always and as do all seaside towns in KwaZulu Natal, we in Zinkwazi had thousands of excited and happy families coming in over the holiday period to enjoy the beauty and thrill of the beaches.
In order for all of this to take place in an orderly, safe and responsible manner, a great deal of preparatory work was done in the preceding months and executed under the command of Marius Prinsloo, Director of KDM Crime Prevention.
With the cooperation and understanding of residents all of this took place without any major incidents and in good spirit.
As always, all litter was removed by KDM within a 12 hour period, to whom we are most grateful.
Over two days of the New Year period, out of gratitude, all personnel assisting in protecting and maintaining the rights and safety of all in our village were provided with cold drinks and takeaways by Zinkwazi Neighbourhood Watch.
We again thank all those who sacrificed their festive time so that ours could be safer.
