Claudine Milsom (6-6-1977 to 6-6-2019) will be remembered for her warm energy and beautiful smile that touched the hearts of everyone she met.
Claudine is the daughter of Ian and Fleurette Milsom and the sister of Clyde, the “apple of her eye”.
She attended Umhlali Primary and later, after matriculating and furthering her studies, at the age of 24 Claudine took a year off and went to work in the USA for Carnival Cruise Lines.
There her wonderful engaging personality stood her in good stead as she rose through the ‘ranks’ in her newfound career.
A few years later she was offered a fantastic career change with Solutions at Sea in their new partnership with Carnival Cruise Lines and Carnival Vacation Club was born, Claudine became the Onboard and Field Manageress, a job which for 12 years took her to many beautiful and remote places all over the world.
In 2013, Claudine chose to return home to Umhlali, to be with her parents in their retirement years, unselfishly putting her family ahead of herself as she was so ever ready to do.
During the time following her return she was contacted by the Dormehl Phalane Property Group to join their team, where she happily enjoyed the challenge of a career change.
In 2018 she was offered the position of PA to the HOA Manager at Elaleni Coastal Forrest Estate in Sheffield.
Here Claudine said she had found her ‘career home’ and was absolutely loving her new job in the most tranquil surroundings and splendour of this magnificent Estate.
Claudine contributed to many Animal Welfare Organisations with focus placed on Monkey Helpline run by Steve, a cause she supported passionately using her influence and knowledge to promote the awareness of the plight of the resident monkey troops on the North Coast, speaking out at any opportunity which arose for their well-being and protection.
When Claudine was diagnosed having cancer on March 26, her words to her family and friends were “I have had a good life, and if my time here was to touch people’s hearts and inspire them, then I think I have achieved that”.
This was the soul of Claudine’s being to always think of her family, friends and all animals first before herself. Claudine made the choice to spend the time she had left at home with her family, where just over two months later, on her birthday she peacefully passed away surrounded by her family and beloved pets.
