#Letter: Two sides of the same coin

"Taxi operators block the roads and then cry intimidation" - Simon Scott.

Ballito resident Simon Scott writes:

In response to the article “Taxi bosses take a hard line” (Courier, June 16).

Mr Ntombela [Dolphin Coast Taxi Association spokesman], do you enjoy choosing what laws of the road are applicable to suit yourselves?

Taxi operators block the roads and then cry intimidation.

You say it is acceptable to take matters into your own hands due to law enforcement agencies not performing their duties.

So you will have no issue then when we as motorists take matters into our own hands the next time a taxi jumps a red light, overtakes dangerously, drives into oncoming traffic, block off emergency lanes, turn in front of vehicles from any lane they wish… the list of transgressions goes on and on.

I thank you for the blessing and hope you will not cry foul the day this happens.
