#Letter: Kudos for honest supermarket employee

"On unpacking my bags at home I discovered one bag was missing" - Dieter Zettler.

Dieter Zettler of Brettenwood writes:

Correspondence that reaches you often deals with unpleasant topics.

However, I would like to bring you a good news one for a change.

Two weeks ago I did bulk shopping at Tiffany’s SPAR and had to use a big trolley with the flap allowing you to place your shopping bags there so you can keep an eye on them.

I took my fully laden trolley to my car parked some distance away, unloaded it and returned the trolley to the rail section provided and duly drove home.

On unpacking my bags at home about 15 minutes later, I discovered one bag was missing.

I realised it must have been hidden under the flap, and I rushed back.

To my surprise it had not been stolen but kept safe by the SPAR employee responsible for returning the trolleys to their usual parking place near the entrance and handed it over to management.

After speaking to the manager on duty to ‘reward’ this employee, I was informed that this service is regarded as standard at their SPAR and we agreed that I would make a donation to a charity in lieu of my gratitude.

I would certainly vote this gentleman as Tiffany’s SPAR Employee of the Month.
