A Blooming success!

Brave golfers enjoyed their time out on the course despite the weather and kept their spirits up in the name of raising money for Bloom Special Needs School

While it was grey, cold and pouring outside, the inside of Simbithi Golf Club was warm and cozy with laughter, colour and the iconic Bloom Special Needs School flowers at their recent gold
day.

The brave golfers enjoyed their time out on the course despite the weather and kept their spirits up in the name of raising money for the school based in Eden Village, Salt Rock.

And money they raised! An incredible R270 000 was made through the golf day and the auction dinner, which Bloom fundraiser Debbie Nicholson said was an absolutely amazing achievement.

“The community have been wonderful, we thank everyone who assisted us in this incredible event. Without all the sponsors and donations of prizes and vouchers from local businesses, we would
never have been able to create such a fantastic golf day,” said Nicholson.

Bloom’s Nicola Stirton said the much needed money will go to good use as they can now finally expand the school.

“We ask you to please get behind Bloom and follow us on our Facebook page so you can stay updated on developments with the new building project we have just started. With the funds
raised from the golf day we are blessed to be able to build an extra two classrooms, an extra therapy room and also do some well needed maintenance in and around the school.

“Thank you to everyone involved, we are so excited for what is to come for Bloom and we are thrilled that in the new year we can now accommodate more children due to the extra classrooms. Watch this space!”
