Youth to take on the battle of the wards in Shakaskraal tomorrow

Councillors urged the youth to unite and engage themselves in the uplifting sporting programmes.

Youth from Shaka’s Head, Etete, Nkobongo, Shayamoya and Shakaskraal will gather at the Shakaskraal Secondary sports ground on Saturday for the first annual Inter Ward Games.

At the launch held at Shakaskraal Secondary, councillors urged the youth to unite and engage themselves in the uplifting sporting programmes.

Councillors of the various participating wards thanked Sembcorp Siza Water and the Dolphin Coast Taxi Association for sponsoring the games.

Siza Water sponsored the teams with sports kits, trophies and medals, and the taxi association donated R7 000 towards the beauty pageant competition, as well as free transport for the people going to the games.

“We really appreciate the help we received from our sponsors. We hope to host this event annually,” said councillor Doeshiee Govender.
