Blessed with controversy
Sanele Ndlovu caused quite a stir on social media when his album cover was prematurely leaked onto the internet.
Passion and confidence are written in the face of New Town, Tongaat, Hip Hop rising star Sanele “Kepza” Ndlovu, who is currently hitting the music industry with the beat of his single titled Blessed.
Recently he caused quite a stir on social media when his album cover was prematurely leaked onto the internet.
Kepza’s introduction to the world of fame brought stress and depression for him, as his single cover was trending, but for all the wrong reasons. The cover pictured him with a naked young girl facing him and Kepza’s holding one side of her naked bum.
This caused a huge uproar with fans criticising him for being disrespectful to women.
“I do not know how that cover went out into the internet. It was not a final copy. In fact, that woman was not naked, it was photoshopped.”
He said his cover is still to come out, and he would not release a cover like that because he has a sister and he respected women in general. To clear the air Ndlovu said he made a public apology on Gagasi FM on Thursday, March 18.
The producer and songwriter has worked with some giants of the South African Hip hop and kwaito music industry, including the likes of Lvovo, Duncan, Zakwe and the upcoming Young Prince. He is also a member of the Hip Hop Tongaat group, Ghetto Squad.
The group consists of three members Kepza, Sithembiso “Def” Mngadi and Vincent “Marvin G” Nene.
The 2007 Fairbreeze Secondary School matriculant said he was addicted to music from a young age.
Ndlovu and his friend, Syabonga Bhengu would lock themselves in a room after school and work on their music. At that time they were only learning how to make a beat.
Later Bhengu went for a sound engineering course and Kepza would associate himself with the people who are working in the industry and learn from them.
“He would come with what he had learned from college and I would bring what I had learnt from the guys. We would share our knowledge and help each other,” said Ndlovu.
The fact that his parents could not afford to send him to tertiary education, Kepza said was not an excuse to not learn what he had to learn to make a living.
